When I was in my 40s I began experiencing hot flushes and changes in my menstrual cycle,including blood clots and flooding. I visited my GP only to be told โ€œYou are in menopause. You are just getting old.โ€.

The phrase โ€œperimenopauseโ€ wasnโ€™t mentioned, nor was there a discussion about natural solutions for symptom relief. Instead, the discussion immediately turned to talk of HRT, the pill and the option of a hysterectomy.
